Royalty Administration Modernisation Program

The Office of State Revenue (OSR) is undertaking a Royalty Administration Modernisation Program to deliver a comprehensive and robust revenue administration framework for mineral and petroleum royalties in Queensland.

This program is being undertaken separately to the review of petroleum royalty arrangements announced in the 2019-20 Queensland Budget.

The Royalty Administration Program proposes to adopt the Taxation Administration Act 2001 for mineral and petroleum royalty administration in Queensland, similar to longstanding arrangements applying for the state’s taxes.

It is proposed these administrative initiatives will apply from 1 July 2020.

OSR has released a consultation paper to provide an opportunity for comment on the Royalty Administration Modernisation Program.
