Racing Integrity Reforms – Review of the Racing Integrity Act 2016

In 2016, following the Queensland Greyhound Racing Commission of Inquiry (also known as the MacSporran report), the Queensland Government overhauled racing integrity by implementing the Racing Integrity Act 2016 and creating the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) to provide for the clear separation of the promotional and integrity arms of racing in Queensland.

The Minister for Racing, the Hon. Stirling Hinchliffe, is undertaking a review of the legislation that governs racing integrity, and you are invited to contribute.

A discussion paper on the future of racing legislation in Queensland is now available for you to read and respond to.

You can have your say on the effectiveness of the current Racing Integrity Act 2016 by submitting responses to questions in the discussion paper via the online survey (see the link below)

You are encouraged to provide your feedback by August 19, 2019.

The Queensland Government will consider the outcomes of this review and provide a response.
