Set a daily use benchmark – The proposed changes include setting a benchmark to help keep average residential water use at or below its current level of 165 litres per person per day, with a benchmark for total use (including residential and commercial use, as well as water losses) of 260 litres per person per day.

Specify peak demand – Right now, Seqwater is required to estimate and plan for how much water people usually use each day during 'normal times', and to publish these estimates. It is proposed that Seqwater should also publish the peak demands that it has plans for.
