Regulatory Assessment Statement system guidelines

The Regulatory Assessment Statement (RAS) system aims to improve the quality of future regulation in Queensland by ensuring regulations meet the needs of today’s economic environment, and uphold necessary protections and safeguards without stifling innovation or productivity.

The RAS system applies to all Queensland Government departments, agencies and statutory bodies, and all regulatory instruments including primary, subordinate and some types of quasi regulation.

These Guidelines provide Queensland Government officers detailed information about the Regulatory Assessment Statement system, key decision points and processes, and other operational requirements.
