- understand that they must decide on the most important issues when asked to develop policies on many topics

- take part in consultations on policy
- present my views and opinions to relevant Government departments
- discuss my concerns and suggestions with Queensland Government policy officers
- submit information when requested by Government
- participate on government committees
- meet and inform public servants and your local Member of Parliament about issues of concern
- take part in government surveys
- ensure the community is aware of my issues
- undertake research and present my findings to Government
- propose cost-effective solutions to problems
- meet with Ministers to consider particular areas of concern related to their portfolio
